The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has informed the Apex Court that the decision on the conduct of this year will be taken tomorrow that is, on 24th June.
A Bench of Justices AM Khanwilkar, Dinesh Maheshwari, and Sanjiv Khanna heard the plea, filed by parents of students of 12th standard, looking forward to the cancellation of the board examinations which are to be taken place in the month of July.
The plea is filed by Advocate Rishi Malhotra on behalf of the parents of the students who were to appear for the examinations, challenged the decision of the authority to conduct the remaining exams from July 1 to July 15 in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, alleging that the same is in violation of article 14 of the constitution of India.
Previously, on 17th June, the court had directed CBSE to hold a consultation and take the following week regarding the conduct of the remaining board examinations, also to examine whether marks could be allotted on the basis of internal assessment.
