General Counsel of the Bar Council of India issued certain guidelines with respect to conducting of online examination by Universities

Guidelines for the Final Year Students

Students of the final year of 3 years courses LL.B and 5 years courses are allowed to appear for online examinations. Universities can adopt an alternative method or other appropriate methods which is adequate for the students to conduct the regular examination. Further, the universities can adopt the full proof method to double the internal marks of the semester exams already held for such year also, the students are allowed to write a research paper, project for each paper for the final year. If the final year students have not cleared a paper of previous years are required to sit in the additional examination. Whereas, those who are already prompted to final year from the previous year can apply for the online examination as well as the research papers and projects.

Guidelines for the Intermediate Semester Students

Intermediate students are prompted to next semester on the basis of their previous year marks as well as the internal marks in the current year. However, the examination of end semester of the students which they have been prompted will be conducted after the reopening of the college/ Universities within a reasonable period of time and if the students are unable to clear the examination of the end semester from which they have been prompted to then before granted the degree students have to clear or pass the examination. Therefore, to obtain the degree, every student who prompted to further semester has to clear all exams.

Nevertheless, Universities and students have to care of and must adhere to the protocol of Covid-19 and ensures the norms of the social distancing in the campus as well as all the classrooms, colleges washrooms are properly sanitized from time to time. The safety and health of the students is the first priority of the Universities and cannot be compromised at any cost. Therefore, they are instructed to follow all the guidelines to maintain the decorum and highest academic standards as well as the norms of the Covid-19 while conducting the examinations.
