About the Seminar:

Refugee Crisis has been a Global concern to be one of the greatest threat to humanity. Refugee Crisis can refer to large groups of displaced people, who could be internally displaced persons, refugees or other migrants, the incidents in their country of origin, or to problems while on the move, or it can refer to problems in the hosting countries after arrival involving large groups of displaced people, asylum seekers or refugees .

In the aftermath of World War II, most countries agreed to protect refugees through the 1951 Refugee Convention and through the UN agency like the United Nation’s High Commissioner for Refugees. According to the UNHCR, 68.5 million people in the world have been forcibly displaced, as published on 20 June 2018 (World Refugee Day).

Years of unemployment, insecurity and political instability being the impetus for such crisis. The Government needs to stop blaming refugees and migrants for economic and social maladies; and instead, combat all kinds of xenophobia and racial discrimination.
